Sometimes knowing a vehicle tires age is practical, I describe in this post how to find the tire’s age.

The Year and Week are Printed on it

When buying a second hand vehicle it is wise to check various parts manufacturing date to get a sense of general condition.
For example checking the tires manufacturing date provides a hint about if the tires are originals or been changed.

Basically all vehicles tires have their manufacturing year and week printed on them.
Let say you buy a 10 years old car and the tires looks like they are still in good condition but you can see the tires are also 10 years old.
It will be safe to change the tires based on the fact that old tires are prone to break down as rubber is old.

The manufacturing date is the last 4 digits of the DOT range of numbers.
If it says 2519 then it means 25 is the 25th week of the year then the 19 is the year 2019.

I hope you’ll find this helpful somehow.

Let me know if you have any questions.
